Dear current and former MCHB trainees,
We would like you to participate in a unique opportunity to build leadership skills, meet other MCHB trainees and former trainees, and enhance your career development. We hope you will consider joining us at this exciting event!
January 19-20, 2012, the University of Florida (UF) Pediatric Pulmonary Center (PPC) and the University of Wisconsin Pediatric Pulmonary Center will be co-hosting a one and a half day MCHInterdisciplinary Leadership Meeting entitled “Making Lifelong Connections: Leadership, Networking and Career Development for MCHB Trainees” at the Boardwalk Inn in Orlando, Florida. At this meeting, current and former MCHB trainees will work together to enhance their leadership skills, network, and develop professional connections with MCHB activities. The meeting will begin mid afternoon on Thursday January 19th at 2:00 pm and will conclude with a wrap up with dinner on Friday evening January 20th.
There is no registration fee for this meeting and attendees’ hotel rooms for two nights (Thursday and Friday) and food (reception on the 19th, and breakfast, lunch and dinner on the 20th) will be provided at no cost to attendees. Trainees and former trainees (or the Centers with which they are affiliated) are responsible for covering transportation and any other costs. As with last year’s meeting, the Inn is assisting in this process by contracting for the meeting at a very reduced, highly competitive rate. The discounted hotel room rate will be extended for three days before and after the meeting, should participants wish to stay longer at their own expense.

- Michael Fraser, PhD,CAE ~ Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs.
- Robyn Schulhof, MA ~ Project Officer, MCHB Division of Research, Training, and Education.
As part of the registration, we are asking that you submit a brief abstract. The topics for the abstract can include, but are not limited to,MCH-related clinical, research, educational, community based, or advocacy/policy activities that trainees participated in during or after your traineeships. The abstracts will be shared with all meeting participants. From the abstracts, the planning committee will select a few participants to give brief (10-15 minute) talks.
